Title : Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life CD: Living the Wisdom of the Tao
Author : Dr Wayne W Dyer
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Magnificient Book!
Tao Te Ching written by the mythic figure Lao-tzu contains wisdom that is difficult to describe.
As you read the words, they speak to you of a reality that is beyond words and yet mysteriously transmitted through words. What a wonderful paradox!
The words function to point to a reality beyond them. A reality that cannot be named or described but it can be felt as a presence in nature, in silence and in other spiritually moving moments of inspiration. Tao Te Ching describes this mysterious eternal Tao.
The text of the Tao Te Ching frees us from intellectual grasping of ideas to the actual reality or presence beyond our mental constructs. Reality is often filtered by our mental screen and we often create a closed reality based on our mental perceptions, beliefs and prior conditioning. In the open words of Lao-tzu, we can experience reality itself as a Whole that is Indivisible and Mysterious.
Lao-tzu's teachings are simple and natural still our grasping mind finds them difficult. This is where Wayne's book is indispensable for relating these teachings to contemporary understanding and making them accessible for Western readers. You can also sense Wayne's sincerity in living the wisdom of the Tao and that gives his words conviction. He is not merely discussing abstract ideas but relating them to his own lived experiences.
This is a magnificent book that every spiritual-seeker needs to have in their library for its inspiration and depth. I've also been reading an unusual spiritual novel about overcoming personal pain and finding your inner center called "Nexus: A Neo Novel."

Title : It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be
Author : Paul Arden
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : good advice
Yes its a great little book that contains good advice, makes you think differently and motivates. But I wonder how many people read the book and then acted on it, any of it?! It would be better as a daily calender giving you 1 piece of advice each day which you might then actually act on.

Title : Getting It Done: How to Lead When You're Not in Charge
Author : Roger Fisher
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Enjoyed it
The book is good and it improved my knowledge. I felt a little was lacking in the implementation aspects of leadership skills. I also read a book that would fill this gap and I recommend it....."The Leader's Guide: 15 Essential Skills."

Title : Now Habit: A Strategic Program for Overcoming Procrastination and Enjoying Guilt-free Play
Author : Neil A. Fiore
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Helps you understand and overcome a crippling habit
I've read hundreds of self-help books, but this blows almost everything else out of the water. This book helped me to understand the reasons why I procrastinate and showed how this habit leads to worry, loss of confidence and chronic underperformance - even in areas that I had not considered to be linked to procrastination. It's like suffering a mysterious illness and feeling that, at last, there is a proper diagnosis and cure. It even shows how the classic shaming and bullying tactics others use to 'spur us on' only serve to fuel the emotions which block natural performance and success. This is now available on audiobook, read by the author. Play it on the way to work and improve your performance!

Title : Think and Grow Rich
Author : Napoleon Hill
Rating : 3 Stars out of 5.
Summary : This edition not the best
I have owned this book for years, but I recently have discovered another, newer version that is far superior. It is "Think and Grow Rich!: The Original Version, Restored and Revised" published by Aventine Press. For one thing it is a bigger book, both in size and in pages (412). It turns out that the book that this review is about is an abridged version of the original, something I never knew in all the times I have read it over the years. This smaller version, while good, contains nothing like the additional information in the "Restored and Revised" version, which I heard 2002 World Snooker Champion Peter Ebdon speaking about. There is just a wealth of fascinating facts and information in the back of the book. In the older book (the rather plain, smaller "Think and Grow Rich" this review concerns), the print is difficult to read, there is little space for jotting notes. The newer revised version reads better and by comparison is a far more useful learning instrument. Napoleon Hill's work is probably the most important ever done, anywhere in the world, in the motivational and self-improvement field. Whichever version you read, it will change your life forever, for the better.
