Title : Unleash the Warrior Within: Develop the Focus, Discipline, Confidence and Courage You Need to Achieve Unlimited Goals
Author : Richard Machowicz
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Well, this book is the one I needed....

10 years of reading "I have the power". Hmm. This guy cuts straight through it to laser focus on what you need. It actually makes sense - being taught acheievement strategies by a military Navy Seal. He's had to make quick, good, tough decisions. He establishs his cred by telling you about Hell Week - the place where most wanabe Seals Break. Then he mingles his talks about fear and action with examples of how he's helped others get over them (not just himself). I listen (figuratively) to this guy because he knows what fear is so if he can overcome it then it's worth taking seriously what he says.
I'm only three chapters in and have noticed a significant improvement in the way I think about getting things done. Target - keep it simple - Weapons - what is the most effective way to get there (not necc the fastest) and Movement (be flexible about how you do what you need to to get the result). I have read literally hundreds of self-help books. This one I am using to not just read but get results. I reccomend it.

Title : Goals! How to Get Everything You Want - Faster Than You Ever Thought Possible
Author : Brian Tracy
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : I read it seven times!

I've read about fifty self-help books and this is the best.

Brian Tracy can say in one page what other authors (notably anthony robbins) will spend a whole chapter on.

Title : Sink Reflections
Author : Marla Cilley
Rating : 5 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Get rid of your clutter and your cleaning lady...

Discovered the Flylady.net website last year, and bought the book soon afterwards. Since then, our house (and world) has been turned around. A simple system to keep the house clean and uncluttered. Nothing extraordinary, not rocket science, just common sense. But it makes keeping house fun and easy - never thought I'd say that!!! The system might sound a bit crazy at first (drying/shining your sink every night), but give it a shot for a week and you'll be converted. Buy the book to keep by your bedside, but make sure you sign up for the (free) e-mail service, to get you truly on your way. www.flylady.net

Title : Born to Win: Transactional Analysis with Gestalt Experiments
Author : Muriel James
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : The meaning of life.....

If your searching to understand people, or why you are like you are then read this book. Parent, Adult and child is in us all. Look back to when you were young to see why you are like you are today - your blueprint - there from the age of 5! If your into reading information like this then I suggest you also read the original Born to Win by James and Jongeward, or I'm OK your OK, Thomas.

Title : Never Eat Alone: And Other Secrets to Success, One Relationship at a Time
Author : Keith Ferrazzi
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Very practical

I read Never Eat Alone after attending a Keith Ferrazzi seminar. So I was already familiar with his approach to networking. The book provides a deeper and more structured perspective to relationship management in various settings - in the office, before/during/after a seminar, on the plane and many more.

My main takeaway from the book has been 'even very small details make a big difference to build your network and you should build it before you need it'. 'Do your homework, share your passions, follow up or fail, build your brand' are some great sections from the book - very useful and practical.

Title : The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change
Author : Stephen R. Covey
Rating : 4 Stars out of 5.
Summary : Might change your life #8211; or sit on the shelf

This is a powerful guide to self-improvement. The "habits" are common-sense: be proactive, or "seek first to understand, then to be understood". The writing is clear, presenting each habit in a way which is easy to apply to oneself. If you're looking for a self-help guide to living a more focused, targeted life, you can hardly do better than this.

The downside is that this is a massive, densely-written book. Just reading it, let alone internalising and acting on it, is a major project. Many readers will dip into it; lose interest; and let it gather dust on the shelf.

Summary: excellent self-improvement guide, won't work for everyone.
